The Issue

Groupon are still actively advertising products for sale on their website despite knowing that they are unable to deliver or provide these items. Customers are waiting weeks for their items to arrive before being told that their order has had to be cancelled due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’ and being offered useless alternatives that they can purchase instead at a higher cost than the original item. MORE MONEY FOR THEM TO TAKE!

Groupon are proving to be increasingly difficult to get in touch with, having seemingly disconnected their phone lines. Your emails are often ignored or alternatively replied to with sub-standard corporate responses that do not address individual issues or circumstances and seek to hide behind the ‘blanket’ that is COVID-19. Any customer requesting a refund is advised that their ‘eligibility window’ has passed and that their only option of ‘reimbursement’ is by accepting Groupon credit to be used on other falsely advertised items on their website. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the law states that you are entitled to a FULL CASH REFUND if the merchant has failed to deliver your item within a 30 day period. At this point you are eligible to apply to be reimbursed.

The Citizens Advice website is very helpful for those wanting to read up on their rights at citizensadvice.org.uk.

Groupon need to stop ignoring their thousands of loyal customers and provide them with the refunds they are due. Many are losing out on hundreds of pounds as a result of this blatant disregard for the law. I myself have lost a total of £470 as a result of Groupon withholding funds owed to me. We must stop this from happening to others!!
