We now have witnessed the fourth election of a President by electoral vote, rather than by the people; As of Friday, November 18th, 2016 the popular votes have been tallied, and Hilary has more than 2 million more votes than Trump. I was waiting to publish this petition until the final votes had been counted, just to make sure that Hilary actually did win the popular vote, but does it really matter?

Allan Lichtman said: "The real reason for Trump's win, was decided by the larger forces that shape American politics."  Do we really want a larger force meddling with our votes? The Electoral College invites the suspicion of "Rigging", it is a selection mechanism on top of a selection mechanism, put into place centuries ago.

Trump may do good, that's to be seen, but he is not the person we voted for.  He will be the 45th President of the United States, that works out to be almost 09% of our Commanding Chiefs were installed into office despite the vote of the people!  We no longer rely on the horse to carry votes to be counted, we have the technology to count each vote with security, so why should we continue to have our votes bundled, then filtered into electoral votes that don't always represent our true choices?

It has been a popular topic throughout our countries history and has been brought to Congress several times in the past, but there hasn't been much movement to redefine or abolish the Electoral College since 2005. At that time it was supported in the House, then filibustered in the Senate, and all previous attempts to modify or abolish the Electoral College, died in a similar manner, does anyone else think that's suspicious?
