I just wanted to send an update to let you know I have exchanged emails with Mr. Kuehn. This has been a VERY difficult time for him and his family, and he is extremely grateful for everyone's support thus far. Unfortunately, things have only gotten worse. Mr. Kuehn's employer recently had a school board meeting where he was fired for this incident, despite the fact that his case has yet to be judged. And his (now former) school District Administrator is essentially black balling him to any school who calls for a reference, stating that Mr. Kuehn put everyone in school in danger. Additionally, this man who has dedicated his life to education, and who served our country honorably in the Marine Corps, is now being treated like a common criminal. When he recently went into the school for school board meeting, they would not let him enter until he was patted down by cops in front of everyone! They did not do this for all attendees, so Mr. Kuehn is now being singled out simply for being a gun owner! As of this email, this petition stands at 73 supporters. While I appreciate everyone's support, I believe we will need far more to get any kind of attention. Mr. Kuehn has a court date tomorrow (June 24th), where his lawyer (at $200/hour) is seeking to have case dropped. This case is financially draining this man, simply because he had an unloaded, holstered gun in the closed center console of his locked vehicle. Is this really the kind of person we, as a society, want prosecuted? Put yourself in his shoes and picture everything you've worked for - your entire career path and livelihood, your bachelors, master's, and doctorate degree, etc. - going down the drain. PLEASE continue spread the word of this petition. Put it on 'blast' via email, facebook, twitter, web forums to which you belong, etc. We need all the support we can gain! Respectfully, Mike
