Stop deforestation of forests in Africa, which is contributing to the Ebola outbreaks, due to pushing fruit bats into contact with humans, as they search for food outside of their forests.
The issue
Stop deforestation of forests in Africa, which, according to environmental experts, is contributing to the Ebola outbreaks, due to pushing fruit bats into contact with humans, as they search for food outside of their forests. Deforestation in Australia is also causing the spread of viruses from fruit bats.
Ebola and bat Bourne viruses in general can put the whole world at risk.
We must stop expanding our cities, and build up, not out.
We must also stop cutting down forests to plant Palm oil plantations to make toilet paper and dig for minerals to produce high resolution screens for mobile phones.
And the solution is not to shoot bats as we are doing in Australia- they are critical to the growth of trees and forests as they spread their seeds- also it seems so unfair that as we cut down thir trees which are their food sources, we then shoot them!
How would you feel if one of your family died from Ebola so that you could have toilet paper and a mobile phone with a retina resolution?
It is about priorities. Do we want a lifestyle, or do we want to live?
Please sign my petition to Greg Hunt, so that we can put pressure on him to work with relevant leaders and agencies to tackle this critical problem.
