The intersection of HWY 51 & County Road 2123 located in Wise County, Texas is one that I will never forget as long as I live. It is an intersection that has claimed far too many lives & changed so many more to keep getting "swept under the rug" or ever better "bandaged" by the State of Texas to get by.

I pass by this intersection daily & am reminded of the impact it has had on my life, my families life, & many others who have felt the grief these crossroads create. Seems like each week there is an extremely bad wreck & too often sadly bodies left mangled or even worse lives are lost.

The State of Texas has to realize the "bandages" aka a blinking signing that says intersection ahead is at best minimally weak attempt to capture attention. Also when the speed limit on Farm to Market 51 is higher going through this intersection than is in on State Highway 114 which causes even more room for error. 

How many more lives have to be affected?  How many more bodies mangled? How many more deaths until The State of Texas does it's due diligence and it's backs up it's responsibility to the public to ensure a safe means of travel.   

This intersection needs a decrease in the speed limit for 2 miles on either side of it, signs to warn travelers of stop light ahead, and a red light to ensure that traffic does stop for the crossroads to safely pass.
