What would you do if your child, your sister, or your friend died from a "legal" drug. This drug is sold in many stores and can be bought relatively easily over the counter or over the internet.  What would you do if your boyfriend smoked some K-2 and ended up paralyzed, or brain dead?  It can happen to you.  It can happen to them.  How can WE stop this and save their lives?

This "LEGAL" drug should be banned/outlawed. There are roughly 450 synthetic cannabinoid compounds to go around—pick your poison. But for those who mistake fake pot for a harmless substitute that will allow them to bypass a drug test, it’s a crude awakening. According to a report by the American Association of Poison Control Centers published in the Chicago Tribune in 2010, the number of emergency room visits nationwide due to use of synthetic marijuana went from just 13 in 2009 to 567 in the first half of 2010. Something needs to be done to stop the selling of this dangerous drug. Synthetic marijuana or K2 as it is also known by, is readily available to almost anyone with access to a convenience store. Even though there are stern warnings from many medical journals about K2's side effects, people continue to smoke it. What many people don't know is, the side effects are sometimes very bad and can even result in death. Even within the context of the same brand, there have been significant differences in the reaction of the participants when taking the substance coming out of the same packets. It is difficult to predict what the possible side effect the spice will have on an individual users because the effects of this drug can vary so much.

Side effects of this 'legal' drug include:

Extreme paranoia, hallucinations, anxiety, temporary paralysis of motor skills, elevated heart rate, uncontrollable sweating, high body temperature, Manic rage, delusions, seizures, vomiting, rapid heart rate, stroke, death.

What can we do to stop this?  Sign a petition, get people informed, get people to notice, get this drug GONE!!!

On October 30 in New York City, a 45-year-old homeless man high on K2 attempted to “surf” on top of a moving subway car. He was pronounced dead on the scene shortly after. Three months before, in Amarillo, Texas, an 18-year-old named Jesse High was pronounced dead after consuming synthetic marijuana that he purchased at a local smoke shop called Planet X. His mom is suing the owners. (The store’s owner, Brandon Whisenhunt has repeatedly turned down the media’s request for comment. His attorney, Vince Nowak, has publicly defended him, claiming that everyone at Planet X, “down to the lowliest employee,” was aware that K2 was deadly.) The horror stories date even further back. On New Year’s Eve 2011, Nancy Ferreira was called to a Florida emergency room, where she found her 14-year-old son struggling to breathe after suffering close to a dozen seizures. He later told his mom he had spent the evening smoking “Mr. Nice Guy herbal smoking blend.”
