Make the Greenville University Jesus Button Play "Africa" by Toto Again!

The Issue

Early in the fall of 2018, a button was installed on the Greenville University campus alongside a bronze statue of Jesus Christ sitting at a stone table. When pressed, the button would play "Come to the Table" by Sidewalk Prophets, encouraging students and community members to come and sit at the table and remember the salvation offered by receiving Christ.

Soon after the button was installed, in the spirit of unity and fellowship, students at Greenville set out to make the "Jesus Button", as it came to be called, the symbol of unity and fellowship that it was intended to be. On Friday, October 19th, 2018, that dream was realized. The Jesus Button still played "Come to the Table", but when pressed for 3+ seconds, the button would also play the beloved song "Africa" by Toto. This simple change caused a wildfire of excitement. Students and faculty alike gathered around the table to "hear the drums echoing tonight" and reflect on the One who truly "blesses the rains". The original intent of the button was realized without removing any functionality the originator of the button wanted. There was joy, laughter, and love whenever that button was pressed.

On November 7th, less than a month after the change, Greenville University disconnected the "Jesus Button",  silencing the calls of "Come to the Table" and "Africa". Students and faculty alike are devastated by this new development.

The solution is clear. Greenville University must reconnect the Jesus Button with both songs available. By reconnecting the button Greenville University can reconnect the hearts and minds of its students and faculty. Please consider pledging your support so that we can once more "Bless the rains down in Africa!"
