Gravitt Trail Communities Petition for the Denial of Rezoning Application by Remetales

The Issue

Gravitt Trail communities consisting of Bromolow Woods, Lakeside at Berkeley Manor and Mt. Tabor will be adversely affected if a rezoning application is passed by the Gwinnett County Planning Commission, allowing a facility with large trucks to use Gravitt Trail as an entrance. Major problems with rezoning would include . . .

-Safety of resident motorist, bicyclist and pedestrians. Gravitt Trail is a small, weight-restricted road with a major blind spot around a curved embankment with ditches. Rezoning to allow a business with large trucks coming in and out is unwise.

-Loss of property value and aesthetics. Gravitt Trail is the main entrance, off of Buford Highway, for two very large subdivisions, Bromolow Woods and Lakeside at Berkeley Manor. Allowing a metal recycling business with gravel entry, added noise levels and large trucks blocking easy access is very upsetting to residents.

-Environmental impact. While recycling is great, placing a recycling business by two large neighborhoods with streams and a lake is not. An increased risk of materials left in road to cause flat tires is also a big concern.

Now is the time to act! Please stand with us and sign the petition to let the Gwinnett County Planning Commission know how opposed we are to an application for rezoning to be granted. Thank you!
