Grant VAT Relief for Small Hot Food Businesses

Grant VAT Relief for Small Hot Food Businesses
The Issue
I am an owner of a small hot food business and I understand the challenges we face every day.
Small businesses are backbones for our economy in United Kingdom
Let's support our small businesses with signing this petition to grow our economy.
Fast food takeaway businesses are subjected to an injustice such that the products they use are not subject to VAT ( tax ) on purchasing and the products sold above £85k per year are subject to( tax ) VAT.
Removing or reducing VAT for small businesses would indeed provide financial relief and support, especially during these difficult economic times. If we can reduce the tax burden of small businesses, that will help these businesses develop and grow and contribute more to the economy.
To achieve this, please support our campaign by sharing and signing it, and let's bring it to parliament.
We strive to provide quality food to our customers, but the financial burden imposed by Value Added Tax (VAT) is making it increasingly difficult for us to stay afloat. Despite purchasing food items without VAT, we are still required to pay this tax on our sales, which significantly reduces our profit margins.
Small businesses like ours form the backbone of local economies across the country. According to data from The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), small firms accounted for 99.3% of all private sector businesses at the start of 2020 in UK and 60% of all private sector employment. Yet, despite these statistics that highlight our importance, we are often overlooked when it comes to fiscal policy.
We believe that granting VAT relief for small hot food businesses would not only help us survive but also thrive in this competitive market. This relief could potentially lead to job creation and contribute positively towards economic growth.
Therefore, we urge lawmakers and relevant authorities to consider implementing a VAT relief scheme specifically designed for small hot food businesses like ours. Your signature can make a difference; please sign this petition today!
