Fair treatment for easyJet staff

Fair treatment for easyJet staff

NO BAILOUT WITHOUT A GUARANTEE TO SAFEGUARD CURRENT STAFF TERMS & CONDITIONS - STAND SOLID WITH YOUR UNION!
During these hard economic times and due to the COVID-19 pandemic EasyJet have been forced to announce measures to protect the business. I understand this, they need to limit outgoings as there is a squeeze on income.
Peter Bellew (COO) under the leadership of Johan Lungdren (CEO) have asked all crew to take 3 months of unpaid leave. This is awful news for the individuals & family’s who rely on their income for food etc.
Peter Bellew (COO) (ex-Ryanair) is not only pushing for the pay freeze but a complete retraction of benefits and collective agreements stretching as far as November 2021.
These measures include removal of basic things such as staff benefits, crew food, agreed roster patterns and a complete decimation of current working conditions agreed by trade unions over many years. It also degrades work life balance not just in the short term but the long term too!
Just think, is it right that Mr Lundgren & Mr Bellew will take a 20% cut for 3 months (APRIL, MAY, JUNE) when they are asking staff to take a 100% cut over three months or a 50% cut over 6 months? How is that fair? In real terms it will be an even bigger cut for crew when sector pay and commission are taken into account!
Is it right that a company that 2 years ago was boasting about its strong balance sheet is now treating its staff in such a vile and inhuman way should receive any portion of a government bailout to aviation? I have no issue with a bailout but you can’t expect public funds whilst degrading your workers terms and conditions, and whilst paying £170million in dividends to shareholders
Please sign if you agree.
NO BAILOUT WITHOUT A GUARANTEE TO SAFEGUARD CURRENT STAFF TERMS & CONDITIONS
PETER BELLEW DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HIS STAFF.
JOHAN LUNDREN PLEASE OVER RULE MR BELLEW AND LOOK AFTER YOUR STAFF
All staff please remember that your union are your protection. Don’t let the company turn you against your union as that is exactly the aim! Stand strong, firm and in SOLIDARITY
