Grant French and EU Citizens the Right to Live in the UK Without a Visa

The Issue

I am writing this petition with a heavy heart, as I find myself separated from my loved one due to our current immigration laws. My partner, a French citizen, and I are forced to live apart because of stringent visa requirements that only cater to individuals with specific trades. The cost of visas is exorbitant and beyond our means. This situation is not just about us; it affects countless others who are also separated from their loved ones.

The UK has always been known for its diversity and inclusivity, yet these rules seem contradictory. In 2019 alone, there were around 3.6 million EU citizens living in the UK (source: Office for National Statistics). Many of them have built lives here, contributing significantly to our society and economy.

However, post-Brexit immigration rules have made it increasingly difficult for EU citizens like my partner to live here without a visa (source: Home Office). This has created unnecessary barriers between families and couples like us who simply want to be together.

We believe that love knows no borders or nationalities. We urge the government to reconsider these regulations that separate people based on their nationality or profession. Let's make it possible for French citizens - indeed all EU nationals - who want nothing more than to share their lives with their loved ones in the UK without having to navigate through an expensive and complex visa process.

Please sign this petition if you believe in love without borders! Let's urge our government officials towards more inclusive immigration policies!

*All these restrictions and extortionate costs are preventing my partner from being able to come and live with me, and it is affecting both our mental and physical health, I am unable to go to France to live with him due to ties keeping me here in the UK. Thanks to Brexit, it has ruined our future and our health and we want something done about it! Let the French and EU citizens come and live in the UK without the need for a visa!
