Today I am making this petition to the mayor of NYC to please make a day to reflect on the Indigenous culture and history. We should acknowledge Indigenous people's culture and history because of how much they had to fight just to still celebrate their culture and beliefs. They had to face very difficult and extreme situations because of how unfair the U.S. was.  This day would be able to have people in New York to honor and celebrate Indigenous People's culture, beliefs, ideas, and everything they have contributed to. We can create statues to honor the history of Indigenous Peoples, we can plant any plants that are important for Indigenous culture, and we can come together as a community and celebrate Indigenous history together. Since we are in a city of diversity, doing this brings us together as a community.
