I am a resident of Wixams, Bedford, and I am deeply invested in this community. When buying our home, one of the influencing factors was water access, it was on the plan. This ease of access to the lake was a significant factor in our decision to purchase our property in this location.

Now, the community is grappling with fences which is blocking our access to the lake. The plans clearly confirm that the fence erected is in the location that was supposed to be the point of access, effectively limiting us from using what, according to earlier plans, should be openly accessible.

According to a survey by the Natural England Commission, "Access to natural environments have been scientifically proven to improve human health and well-being" (2020). Therefore, it is crucial that we do not underestimate the potential impact of this on our community's mental and physical well-being.

We, the residents of Wixams, Bedford, implore the developers and local government to resolve the issue and give us the access that was proposed. The fence should be opened to allow the community rightful access to this natural beauty, contributing significantly to the quality of life in Wixams.
