Grant a re-election of the LUAC 2024-25 student council

The Issue

We the people of Lutheran Academy signing this petition demand a re-election of this year's student council. If this cannot be achieved, we will be taking further measures to completely abolish any student council this year.

On October 4th, the 2024-25 student council election of Lutheran academy was held. Between two cabinets, Neptune and Polaris, Polaris acquired more votes and was thus elected.

However, it was soon discovered that Polaris got people to threaten some year 7s to vote for them, which resulted in a 10% vote deduction. This meant that Neptune would have been the rightful winner, but the supporters of Polaris complained to the school through undisclosed methods.

After certain negotiations, the coordinators of our school decided to revoke the 10% vote deduction, changing it to 5% instead.

We feel that the argument of the original punishment being too harsh cannot be applied here, as the election rules have already stated that ANY violation would result in a 10% deduction.

We agree that suddenly bending the rules like this is not in the best interests of anyone, which is why we sign this petition to demand a re-election of our student council.

As previously stated, if a re-election cannot be held, we request that there be no student council for this school year.
