We the students, families, alumni and supporters of Graham High School fervently request our Tazewell County government officials collaboratively unite in purpose and resolve to finish what the Tazewell County School Board envisioned for our students and community—a Graham High School stadium. The Graham High School stadium project was planned by the School Board to include a modern field, permanent stadium seats, lights, and full facilities. The stadium project was approved and initiated by the Tazewell County School Board. We encourage the school board, the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors and the Town of Bluefield to join forces in accomplishing this project. In 2025, upon completion of the beautiful, modern athletic field, we proudly and enthusiastically hosted our first official home football game during daytime hours with families, visitors and other spectators bringing their own chairs and utilizing portable restrooms. Permanent bleachers, lights and full facilities to finalize the stadium seem to remain just out of reach due to funding issues, gaps and conflicts, but our resolve to see the entire stadium completed remains steadfast! A completed home stadium for GHS belongs to and invests in our youth and future generations, supports area businesses and our economy, and fosters a sense of community, school pride and unity. A completed Graham stadium is not just about football—it’s about connecting our students, families, businesses and communities through track, soccer, band, cheer, concerts, academic events, middle school activities, little league competitions, and festivals. It’s also about fairness, pride, equal opportunities for our children to enjoy the same stadium facilities Tazewell County’s Richlands and Tazewell High Schools and their respective communities have utilized and enjoyed for decades. Please consider signing this petition requesting the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors, the Tazewell County School Board and the Town of Bluefield unite, consolidate their focus and act in the best interests of the students, future generations and the GHS school community, and allocate the necessary funds to fully complete the Graham High School stadium facility. We hope that everyone throughout Tazewell County and surrounding areas will join us in our dedicated pursuit by signing this petition. Our Tazewell County government leaders need to fully understand that we encourage and expect them to unite, invest in our youth, our school, future generations, and our community to complete the stadium for the benefit of all.
