Stop The Tulsa, Oklahoma Presidential Rally

Stop The Tulsa, Oklahoma Presidential Rally
The Issue
GOVERNOR STITT and MAYOR G.T. BYNUM,
It has come to our attention that President Trump plans on holding his campaign rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the BOK Center on June 19th at 8pm.
We believe holding a presidential rally for Mr. President Trump, an individual who supports division rather than unity in such trying times for our nation and on a day that celebrates freedom for Black Americans all across the country is ethically and morally wrong.
We believe this statement also shows a lack of understanding, empathy, and compassion for the black people of your state and your lack of support for the Black Lives Matter Movement.
The 1921 Race Massacre in Tulsa Oklahoma, is a stain on the soil of the state in which you were elected to represent. The people of your great state need a leader who stands with them. The people of your great state deserve someone who will see across party lines to listen to the pain they are feeling, especially right now.
So today we ask that you STAND UP NOW and deny hosting next week’s presidential rally. We ask that you show the American people, the people of your state, and most importantly the community of black men, women, and children all around the world, that Oklahoma will not stand for racism in politics.
We are a nation in need of healing. Healing from years of injustice, and years of pain. Pain that was so tangibly felt in your great streets some 90 years ago. Let’s come together as a United nation for all the generations yet to come.
But today, Mr. Mayor and Mr. Governor, today - it starts with you
