We are trying to petition the fact that every state allows head, face, and neck tattoos, except for South Carolina. Their reasoning behind it states it can make you unemployable, with this being said the new "norm" is being tattooed anymore. We have the "my body, my choice" and people are not turned away from employment due to having tattoos because it is completely socially acceptable in this day in age. Why can we not tattoo the neck in South Carolina when if I cross the NC or GA line they can? We all know we are in a "bible belt" state but we also know this law is pretty redundant considering police officers, firemen, even our local National Guard members have tattoos above the collar here in this state. We also want to petition for South Carolina to allow piercing in the same building as the tattoo shop, there again in every other state this is allowed. This is nothing more than a way to gain money from two separate entities even though they are always the same owner. Rent for 2 separate buildings payment to DHEC for 2 separate licenses and payment for 2 separate inspections. This is robbery!! Please help us petition the SC government to amend these laws.
