Maintain the Arcadia Management Area Environment

Maintain the Arcadia Management Area Environment
The Issue
As of right now Rhode Island's DEM plans to place a their headquarters at Browning Mill Pond in the Arcadia Management Area. This was not placed on any town or state ballots, the people did not have a say. By placing the building here it will cause more traffic in the area, will disturb the natural beauty of the management area, and will take away from the main focus of the location. For years Browning Mill Pond has been a place for families and friends to go to have picnics, to fish, and to enjoy life. The creation of the building will ultimately change the use of the area and will detract from the beauty of the town as a whole.
If Governor Gina Raimondo does not give permission to DEM to build here then the location will remain a scenic treat in the town. It is part of the town's culture and should remain as such.
