Samuel Nathaniel Brown is the co-founder of the Anti-violence Saftey and Acciuntability Project (ASAP) is a not-for-project 501(c) (3) organization dedicated to affecting systemic change, community growth, and personal transformation. He is also the creator and pioneer of the Theory of Emotiinal Illiteracy-Based Criminality which shows that people adopt criminalty as a coping mechanism for unprocessed traumas which can be mitigated through social emotional learning.
Sam is the founder of the 10P program which consists of the Boyz 2 Men workshop, Lifer Empowerment Group, Parole Preperation Workshop, Survivor Offender Meditation, Seminar and THE BRAIN Project. The 10P Program has been credited with changing the lives of hundreds of participant's at multiple California Department Of Corrections and Rehabilitation Facilities.
In addition to being a philosopher, author, spoken-words poet, organizer and musican, Sam is also the original author of ACA3 which Jamilia Land and State Senator Sydney Kamlager introduced as the California Abolition Act. With Jamilia as the coalition chair, ASAP now spearheads the push for passage through the state legislature. If passed and signed by the govenor in 2021 ACA3 will become a state proposition on the November 2022 ballot with ASAP California Abolition Act Coalition members leading the campaign to win the support of a majority of California voters. The California Abolition Act would end Californias Jim Crowish practice of using involuntary servitude slavery by another name to punish crime.
Samuel believes that education is a powerful transformative tool. He has earned an Associates of Arts Degree in Social Science, an Associate of Arts transfer Degree in Sociology, and a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies. Ssmuel is married to his beautiful wife Jamilia and they have three incredible children, Natalie, Onnie, and Jayson.
