The St. Petersburg City Council Energy, Natural Resources & Sustainability Committee will hear the single-use plastic bag ban ordinance for the first time. 3PM at 175 5th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701 The 5-member committee will read it, discuss it, and ultimately vote on whether or not the ordinance can go forward in the process. This is step 1 of 3, the next being a formal City Council vote. If St Pete bans the bag, they will be only the second city on Florida to do so! Everyone is encouraged to join them and pack out this committee meeting to show support for banning the bag in St Pete. Meet at City Hall @ 3 pm and WEAR BLUE to show your support for the ocean. While there is no public comment period during this meeting, our presence will show support for this important cause.
