Hi everyone, please see the attached link. We are basically in a waiting game. Coral Gables hasn't been sued yet regarding their plastic bag ordinance. It's expected though. If they are, the results of that court case will finally give cities clear direction. Can they ban or charge for plastic bags or not? In the interim, I strongly suggest local governments move forward with plastic bag ordinances. Ask your elected officials to join Coral Gables in this movement to challenge the state. The City of Miami Beach will be proceeding with a plastic bag ban which will incorporate all city owned property. It will apply to the Famer's Market, Sidewalk Cafes (Ocean Drive/Lincoln Road) and service on our beaches. It'll be a step in the right direction considering how many places are within feet of the water. Stay tuned!
