Petition to launch a Public Registry of Sex Offenders in Uganda

The Issue

According to the Police Crime Report, 2019, an estimate of 13% of Ugandan women experienced sexual assault making this over one million women and girls a year. It is not safe for us to live in a space where predators are allowed to roam free and violate our children, siblings, friends and colleagues.

The Government of Uganda alongside the Uganda Police Force must create a national sex offenders registry where the identities of these sexual assaulters are kept and made public knowledge so as to minimise repeat cases by the same criminals and enhance the safety of the public through awareness of a threat.

By signing this petition, you are contributing to a better future for the children of the next generation whose parents and guardians will be able to protect them from a known threat.

Be the change in the Uganda of tomorrow!
