Despite the Prime Minister's speech last night, members of the TLP have driven the state in perpetual lockdown, challenging not only the writ of the state but the supremacy of law. Asia Bibi not only deserved to be rightfully acquitted but needs to be compensated for losing eight precious years of her life in a cellar on a baseless and now legally discredited allegation. We cannot allow extremists in the garb of "protestors" to dehumanize minorities, manipulate blasphemy laws for their political gains and threaten the lives of the citizens of Pakistan. PISA demands the immediate arrest of Khadim Rizvi, under the protection of the Pakistan Penal Code with Article 124-A promising life-time imprisonment for committing Sedition against the state and Articles 141-147 positioning the current protestors as "unlawful assembly" complicit in "rioting" and attacking public property and the lives of legal citizens and being legally liable to imprisonment.
