This petition has been set up to demand Justice for Qurat-ul-Ain Baloch, alias Ainee Buledi, who was killed at the hands of her husband Umer Khalid Memon on 15th July 2021 in front of their 4 young kids. Umer Khalid Memon owns a car business and is a landowner. His father is a former bureaucrat and ex-secretary of Irrigation Department of Sindh. Qurat-ul-Ain was a housewife but a very well-educated woman with a Masters in business administration.

Qurat-ul-Ain and Umer Khalid got married in 2012. She became a victim of domestic violence only months after her marriage. Even though she had full support from her family and was well-educated, she couldn't separate because of constant threats and blackmailing from Umer's side. He was arrested multiple times but always managed to bribe and escape with the help of his rich father and brother.

Qurat-ul-Ain was killed by Umer Khalid at their residence in Barrage Colony, Hyderabad. Initial Postmortem reports have been uploaded on social media and clearly indicate that she was tortured for hours before he killed her. Her body had many bruises and lacerations. Many of her organs were congested and the lungs had hemorrhage.

Initially, the Police refused to lodge an FIR but after the news spread like a wildfire on social media, the police registered an FIR. With the help of public, we managed to get the hashtag #justiceforquratulain trending on twitter and the case got noticed by various news channels.

Umer Khalid's family is using their money and power to get him freed. Umer is not only a murderer, but also a child abuser and an alcohol addict. He is completely sane with no history of mental illnesses and was in his complete senses when he committed the crime.

Qurat-ul-Ain was a beautiful soul who had compassion and empathy for everyone. She stood up for herself and fought for herself till the very end but lost. Not only herself, she stood up for others too and her courage and bravery can be clearly seen in her kids too. Qurat-ul-Ain’s soul is definitely in peace, but we can’t let her murderer go unpunished.

We demand:

o   Fair investigation to be carried out.

o   Prime Minister to personally take notice of the case.

o   Supreme Court of Pakistan to ensure Justice is served.

o   Family of Umer Khalid Memon held accountable for always bribing their way out and supporting him fully knowing what he was capable of.

o   Fair medical reports to be issued.

Stand up for Qurat-ul-Ain. Stand up for her kids. Stand up for Women.

No more killings or bribing, we demand swift investigation and swift justice.
