Teachers and support staff are essential workers educating the youth in schools across the province and country as the rampant variants take a devastating toll on anyone who becomes infected. Yet, day in and day out teachers and school staff continue going to work risking their own health doing what they love, to teach. The Ontario government needs to prioritize teachers as essential workers and get them vaccinated immediately so we can keep our students in school and keep our teachers, support staff and their families safe and healthy.  

This is the only way we can continue to keep schools open safely. The mental health of our students is paramount and another school closure will be devastating. All teachers and support staff must be vaccinated, now!

Empty classrooms are not acceptable.
