Better Health Protection: Ontario Must Recognize Transmission of COVID-19 Through Aerosols

The Issue

We need your help with an important petition.

ATU Local 113 is calling on the Ontario government and Public Health Ontario to acknowledge the risk of COVID-19 transmission through aerosols. Toronto Public Health reports “the risk of transmission from aerosols may be possible when there are a higher number of people indoors, for a longer period of time, with poor airflow or ventilation.”

By signing this petition, you can urge the Ontario government and Public Health Ontario to change their COVID-19 transmission guidelines and protect frontline workers by:

  • Ensuring all frontline workers have access to proper PPE
  • Creating better ventilation for indoor spaces

ATU Local 113 sent a letter on February 2 to Ontario Premier Doug Ford urging the Ontario government and Ontario Public Health to act on this issue. On February 17, ATU Local 113 asked Toronto and York Region’s Chief Medical Officers for their support to improve Ontario’s COVID-19 transmission guidelines and recognize the seriousness of aerosol transmission.

Help us get Public Health Ontario to join the Public Health Agency of Canada in recognizing aerosol transmission of COVID-19. These guideline changes are supported by many leading Canadian doctors, scientists and infectious diseases experts.

Together, let’s get the Ontario government to create healthier workplaces across Ontario!

Please share this petition with your family, friends and co-workers.
