Day 35 - Post Submission | Govt Invites UTech, Jamaica to Subvention Mtg for May 10, 2019

Hi Friends,

Today is the 35th day since we submitted our petition to our Government of Jamaica on April 4 and 5th, 2019 (electronically and by hand delivery) respectively. 

It is also the 61st day since we started our petition on March 9th, 2019.

To date, 16,768 of us have united to petition our government to Increase the Subvention to the University of Technology, Jamaica, Commensurate with Need.

SUBVENTION UPDATE
In response to UTech Jamaica's Academic Staff Union's (UTASU) Strike of April 30th, 2019, the Government has invited the Management of the University and UTASU to a meeting to discuss the Subvention. The meeting is scheduled for this Friday, May 10th, 2019. One condition of the meeting was that UTASU end the strike action.
