There are less than 1400 tigers left in the wild in India...our other wildlife especially the Big Cats are being poached with impunity. The punishment of trafficking in wildlife products is only a year in jail and a fine of $ 500 ! That's if the traders and poachers are sentenced which in itself takes a few years. If the punishment for drugs and human trafficking is death, then why not the same for wildlife poachers and traders?
After all, there are more than 7 billion human beings, but only 1400 tigers. It doesn't add up, does it?
