Stop the Springbank Dam in Calgary, Alberta
The Issue
The proposed Springbank Off Stream Reservoir threatens to devastate another community as a result of the 2013 flood.
We need your support in stopping this misguided project for these reasons:
1. The hardest hit communities of the 2013 flood will not be protected.
2. This proposed water reservoir risks numerous hazardous oil and gas pipelines.
3. Sensitive environmental areas, fish and wildlife habitat and delicate water systems will be destroyed.
4. Grossly inadequate and meaningless landowner, resident and community engagement.
5. With this dam, the flood of 2013 would destroy another community.
6. The wisest choice for a reservoir is the previously considered McLean Creek location.
7. Springbank will be home to a permanent industrial project with the potential of power generation and further negative impact.
