Given that the US and China governments have just committed to nearly completely ending their domestic ivory trade, this is something that the Australian government should also do.

It’s an easy win for them as we have little ivory trade.

We will also be pushing this with our other trading partners -getting places like Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia to do the same.

So if the US and China, which are the biggest ivory consumers, can step up to control their domestic ivory trade, why can’t Australia?

The Australian Government need to make a public commitment.
