The cpc course hgv drivers are forced to do has caused a lot of the shortages. I myself am a fully qualified class one hgv driver but when my cpc ran out last year I never renewed. The cpc is a complete waste of time and money. Especially for drivers who have been doing the same job for the last 20 odd years. Scrap the cpc pay them a decent wage and drivers will come back.
