Calling all artists, music lovers and live venues!

It’s a tough time right now, and our beloved industry is struggling, the UK 'lockdown' has left over 140,000 performers, agents, promoters and technicians without a steady income since the end of March and that makes us sad!

We all NEED live music - that indescribable feeling that makes your hair stand on end, that rush of excitement as the house lights go down and the incomparable thump of the bass as the band kicks in, it's an escapism like no other, we simply can’t let this end without a fight!

A recent survey by the Music Venue Trust (MVT) also found 554 of its 670 member venues are under threat of "imminent closure" as a result of Covid-19, how crazy is that?! What’s going to happen to the future of Grass Roots?

Jamma (JammaMusic.com) is an independent platform for artists to find gigs and Jam! We hold a HUGE passion for live music and our petition is to rally the Government to follow in the footsteps of other European countries to support the creative industry, as Germany announces it is in the process of rolling out a 54bn Euro stimulus to its creative economy. With well over £1bn injected into the UK economy in 2018 from Live Music (£5.2bn total to UK economy), it’s in the Government's interest to help the sector back on its feet, to help us when we return to the new normal!

So here's a breakdown of what we are demanding: 

- Business rates relief for grass root's music venues across the UK
- Options for grants and loans for all music businesses
- VAT 'Holidays', allowing companies to delay payments to provide cash flow to music businesses
- Guidance and clarity for self employed music industry workers
- Compensation schemes supporting live events, music businesses and festivals 

So please, sign our petition and let's pave a way for artists, creatives and venues to continue to flourish as we look to exit lockdown. The more signatures we have, the better chance we have of saving the live sector.
