As the fall semester is approaching during the COVID-19 pandemic, many students face worries about their study accommodations. As of right now, no buildings are open to students so they go there and study.

Many students face challenges as they try to acquire proper technology (computers, webcams and microphones) for their courses, as well as having a quiet place to focus. For many, the library is the only place where they can efficiently finish their work, whether it be on a computer on the main floor or simply studying in the quiet reading room.

With bars and restaurants opening with limited capacity and enhanced sanitization, many students believe that the QEII library could open in a similar fashion, with students following reduce capacity, sanitization, mask-wearing, and social distancing mandates set by university officials.

Students grades have already suffered because of this pandemic, feeling less than optimistic as we try to resume full-time learning. Having access to a quiet, familiar study space, even at reduced hours of operation would benefit the student population immensely.

Please sign this to let officials know how important the library is for our academic year.
