Riviera IslesHollywood, FL, United States
6 jul 2017
Dear neighbors, On July 5th, 2017, Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam introduced a resolution urging the State Fire Marshal to include homes in the areas near White Rock Quarry's north mining site as an area of analysis for the Study and to include in the scope of services for the Study an analysis of mental and/or emotional effects of blasting. The resolution was approved unanimously by the Miramar Commissioners, who also expressed their concern and support for the affected residents. This resolution is looking to ensure that the City has an opportunity to be part of the blasting study and that the possible health effects reported by the residents can be analyzed in the study as well. Please remember that this fight is far from over. We are making progress thanks to the advocacy and leadership of our elected officials, and your continuous involvement. Upcoming meetings: - Palm Springs North Civic Association: July 11th @ 7:00 pm (Norman and Jean Reach Park (PSN Park-Park Bldg) 7901 NW 176 Street Hialeah, FL. 33015) - Riviera Isles Blasting Committee: July 26th @ 7:00 pm (Riviera Isles Clubhouse) If you live in a different community and you would like to know more about our efforts, please email us at nomoreblastingrivieraisles@yahoo.com.
