Dear Neighbors,
Miramar City officials have been very busy looking for solutions to the blasting problem. They are planning a trip to Tallahassee on March 15 where they are going to meet with Florida legislators on both House and Senate to ask for a responsible approach regarding the mining industry in the Miami-Dade Lake Belt area. Commissioner Riggs is trying to get a bus to transport residents who want to go to Tallahassee and support the efforts of the Miramar Mayor and the Commissioners. We understand that a permanent solution to the blasting problem is ultimately in the hands of the Florida legislators, that is why this trip is so important.
The more people who can go to Tallahassee and support our elected officials, the better! If you are interested in being part of this delegation, please email us: nomoreblastingrivieraisles@yahoo.com
(The bus has not been approved and this update is not a guarantee of its approval. The decision will be made exclusively by the Miramar Commission.)
Since this initiative is run by a group of volunteers, we do not have a source to fund activities. If you have access to lodging discounts, transportation discounts, t-shirt donations, please let us know.
Remember that if you want to represent your community in the Blasting Citizen Advisory Committee that was recently approved by the City of Miramar, you need to fill out your application ASAP:

The Miramar City Commission will vote to choose the committee members next week.
Please keep sending your emails, complaints, and pictures. We need to keep the ball rolling.
As always, thank you for your support. Share this petition with family and friends. We hope to see you in Tallahassee!
