The BSL laws do nothing to make irresposible owners accountable. These laws punish resposible dog owners and create a stigma towards the targeted breeds. BSL requires each and every dog to be identified as a breed—something that has proven impossible to do accurately and objectively. The real problem here are the bad dog owners who do not train their dogs properly; no matter what breed the dog may be. I understand that there is a concern for public safety and I believe that together we can educate the community through dog ordinances that all dog owners should follow, no matter their dog looks like.
