Re: My Opposition to New York Senate Bill S8541, Sponsored by Sen. John Brooks
Dear Assemblywoman Darling Raynor,
I am a community member who resides in your district.
I do not support this bill because it would immediately remove access to the green space currently being used by the Freeport community, the Freeport School Districts' students and Freeport's athletic teams.
If passed, this bill would circumvent current pending litigation and allow the Village of Freeport to remove and replace the last remaining green space in North Freeport with an Amazon warehouse, trucks, traffic and pollution. Resulting in not only displacing 7,000 students in the school district but also negatively impacting the neighboring housing complex and the 100 families that reside across the street from the parcel referenced in this bill.
I am writing to request that you advocate the withdrawal of this bill, put Freeport students and families first and keep Cleveland Avenue Green.
Sincerely, SIGN YOUR NAME
