[Supporting documentation provided in <Updates> tab]
Oct 1, 2021 the Inc. Village of Freeport Board commenced litigation against the Freeport school district regarding Cleveland’s parkland easement.
July 25, 2022, the Village of Freeport Board voted to sell Cleveland Park to PDC Northeast LPIV, LLC (the Panattoni Group) and rezone the park for industrial use, over the objection of local residents.
The Freeport community stands to lose this nine(9) acre athletic recreational park which has been used and maintained by the Freeport School district for over 70 years. Two housing complexes which house 198 families will lose the one greenspace that is accessible and in close proximity. The environmental impact to these families in close proximity is also cause for concern.

Let's join our voices to tell the Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Inc. Village of Freeport [New York] that we do not agree with the proposed acquisition and development at Cleveland Avenue park and adjacent properties.
By signing this petition, your voice will be heard in support of our children and community.
As this battle continues, acknowledgment and thanks is being extended for work and dedication in obtaining and achieving the victories that have been won thus far. Stay consistent and persistent. Our community and children deserve this. ** Thank You **
