Dear Supporters,

I'll get right to the point. I haven't been able to post any updates because I did not have access to my petition dashboard until now. (Technical issue that Change.Org has solved for me)

I want to thank all of you for signing the Save Google Play music petition. As you may have noticed, Google has blocked access to the Google Play music store and Google Play music app on Android phones very recently - and is now forcing users to switch to YouTube Music.

As it stands, the app is still technically available - access is just blocked. As a last-ditch effort, I'm asking you to PLEASE SHARE this petition to your friends on Social Media, via Text, or via Messenger app  so I can finally send the signatures off to Google.  Sharing is the best way to get the word out. If you are able to contribute, this petition is shown to 13 change.org users per $1 but you have the ability to share it to more than 13 users for free!

We should not have to pay for music that we already own. We should not have to listen to advertisements for music that we own. And we should be able to listen to music with the screens of our devices off without paying a fee. Please share this petition.

For those of you that still have access to your music, there may be a way to save it. ( by the time I post this, this ability may have been taken away)

1. Search for the Google Play Music Download Manager ( it is not always easily found). This must be attempted on a desktop or laptop computer.

2. Log into your Google Play account through the app once installed ( Gmail email and password).

3.  Download all of your albums in one sitting. This may take a few hours

if the Google Play music download manager is no longer available, try to log into the desktop version of Google Play music manually. You will then have to download each song one at a time unfortunately. You can do this by clicking on the three vertical dots next to each song and clicking "download".

https://play.google.com/music

(IF THE LINK ABOVE DOES NOT WORK, PLEASE MANUALLY ENTER IT INTO YOUR BROWSER)

If neither of these two options work, unfortunately Google has gotten rid of your music library.

If you did not have many purchased albums or songs in your Google Play Music library, I would hold off for now until you are definitely forced to switch over to YouTube music. Then it would be your choice.

Let's keep the shares going and I want to thank everyone for making a contribution if you did so. I greatly appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Chris Kelley
