There’s a lot of hype about how voice search is the future.

We’re marketers. We love hype. But there’s a problem.

Brands, agencies and the wider search community are grasping at techniques to better cater to voice queries, but despite some admittedly clever methods to do so, we could all be wasting our resources and time. We’re less fussed about time as it’s infinite so there’s loads of it, but you get the picture.

There’s one way to solve this, Google, old pal.

Be the hero we need you to be. Enable voice query data and filters in Search Console, just like you’ve said you would since 2016, and bring light to the darkness. End our needless suffering. Cease the need for our grandiose statements.
