Some months ago a gang of boys from Rincón de Tamayo, Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico took a senven-month-old puppy; they tortured her by cutting her skin, by beating her and by kicking her, and finally they sprinkled her with petrol to set fire on her. The puppy ran away from her aggressors until she got to a street where she lay down under a bench. The people who went past ignored her until some guys from Adoption Operation (Operación Adopción) found her and took her to the closest Veterinary Surgeon's. She was cared for, but as the time was going by, her condition deteriorated. After one week in which she was cared for by two veterinary surgeons, it was necessary to make the most humane decision to stop her suffering. Naty had more than 80% of her body burnt, her muscles were exposed, her little ears were practically destroyed like her little paunch. She was in agony, but despite her pain when Eduardo Ruíz Rodríguez and his wife said the last good-bye, the doggie was able to move her little tail thankful for the help she received from them, finally she closed her eyes and passed away in peace. There was a march in the town asking for help to find out the responsible. With the time a young girl who witnessed the event decided to speak it out to get justice in spite of being afraid. Eduardo has received threats in his home, business, and in his shelter for dogs, he received messages and calls saying that he would pay a high price if he did not desist. They fulfilled their threats: DJ, one of the dogs rescued by Eduardo, very loved because he was mistreated for long time and got a successful rehabilitation was kidnapped. Eduardo has denounced before the Ministerio Publico (the ministerial department of justice in Mexico) and other institutions like the Centre for Animal Protection (Centro para Protección Animal). The witness is willing to bring face to face the three resposible people before the authorities; one of them is willing to accept his punishment, but the people who may impart justice do nothing to get justice for Naty and for Eduardo.
