Require Hamilton Police officers to wear body cameras on duty.

The Issue

The Hamilton Police department (Hamilton, Ontario) has voted against the use of body cameras on its officers 4 consecutive times since 2014. In the current state of unrest and tension between the Police and the public, the hope is that requiring body cameras could provide transparency about police use of force and unprofessional behaviour, mend trust with the public, and improve the safety of the public as well.
