Get an Indoor Skatepark in Tasmania

I am trying to get Glenorchy council to consider putting in an indoor skate park. so come on, sign the petition to make it happen.

There are many Skateparks across Tasmania but they're just not good enough. Many kids ride bmx, scooters, skateboards, roller-blades and others. But we can barely even ride. In winter and autumn we can only ride skateparks like once a week because of Tasmania's horrible weather. and in these seasons it gets cold and dark very fast, limiting our time to ride.

All Tasmania's skateparks are small and built out of concrete. So we can't try any of the harder tricks like flips, because if you try to do a flip or a hard trick on  concrete skateparks and fail, it can have a big impact on your life. Many people have died from trying some tricks on concrete skateparks, from falling on the neck and other spinal injuries, and nobody wants that. But indoor skateparks can have foam pits, where riders won't get hurt from trying tricks. Foam pits are a square box filled with foam. So when you land, it's like landing on a cushion. Indoor skateparks can also have ramps called a resi, which is basically a foam ramp which you also won't get hurt on if you fall when trying a trick. An indoor skatepark would be a safe and controlled environment for kids to try tricks in. and with many suggested features by other riders

The materials that would be required for an indoor skatepark is just wood and not concrete. Concrete costs much more than wood, so it can cost up to three times as much as wood. Concrete is also much harder to build with.

There are many indoor skateparks in other states of Australia, but not Tasmania, so I think it would be a great idea to put one in. Every person that rides anything would be there. It would be an attraction to Tasmania, there would be people coming down from Launceston just to ride an indoor skatepark. Kids are always talking about an indoor skatepark but they think it will never happen.

An indoor skatepark should have an entry fee, so when people come to ride the skatepark, the council will get their money back. It should have a cafe so people at other skateparks aren't raiding Hungry Jack's and KFC when they want snacks.

A good place to build an indoor skatepark would be an old warehouse or something located in either Claremont, Glenorchy, Moonah or Hobart.

Every rider wants an indoor skatepark but nobody's really tried hard enough. Every rider has been wanting an indoor skatepark since forever. It would be a great thing to do for the community. It could even give a better look on the Glenorchy Council. So in conclusion the council should put an indoor skatepark in.
