Ladies and Gentlemen, Thank you so much for having signed this petition but I am afraid I have bad news, I am sorry it has taken me so long to update you all on what happened with this petition, but I had to overcome yet another defeat. While on Change.com it says Victory, it is anything but, I contacted (prior to the Indyref) MSP Ruth Davidson, who as far as I am aware, did try her upmost to support this petition by appealing to the procurator fiscal herself but she soon e-mailed me a while after and attaching a copy of the letter as proof that the PF has refused to reconsider the opportunity to bring this man to court. They still maintain the stance that due to it's historical significance it is not in the interest of the court to try McGowan. This truly is a horrible blow as not only did they have enough evidence, it's as if they choose not to care. The only thing I and the other victims and you, the public, can hold onto is that we know his name and to look out for him and keep well away from him. My only hope is that without a trial they have kept on his record that he was accused of it. This is truly a disgusting defeat, I am so very sorry that this monster has been allowed onto our streets and I do hope that you keep your eye out for him, do not let your children near him. The plus side is that him and his mother will never be allowed to foster again. My deepest regrets, Elizabeth Baillie.
