Gladys Berejiklian wants to tear down historic buildings at Willow Grove and St George's Terraces to make way for her proposed Powerhouse Parramatta museum.

The destruction of these buildings is strongly opposed by the people of Parramatta and after consultation with the local community CFMEU NSW has placed a Green Ban on any demolition work at these heritage sites.

If the Premier Berejiklian wants work on the museum to proceed she needs to sit down with the local community, listen to what they say and come up with a plan that preserves these buildings. She should work with the community to develop a plan that preserves Parramatta's history and delivers a world-class museum and cultural precinct for Sydney's west.

The CFMEU is proud to stand with the community in support of this important campaign. This is the first Green Ban the CFMEU has put in place since the recent passing of Jack Mundey who inspired a generation of unionists and community activists to fight for our shared built, cultural, and environmental heritage.

Help us stand with the people of Parramatta and tell Premier Gladys Brerejiklian to save Willow Grove and St George's Terraces.

If you want to know how you can further support the Green Ban on the demolition of  Willow Grove and St George's Terraces, please share your email address and we will keep you informed about any future community actions.
