Did you know that our local state forests are targeted for sale: Strickland, Wyong & Ourimbah. Why should we care? Forests:

• provide oxygen we need to live and absorb the carbon dioxide we exhale.
• help keep the Earth cool (essential with Climate Change upon us)
• provide habitat for a diverse range of living creatures
• give us recreational and health benefits
• have unique ecosystems and unique histories (Strickland's first nursery dates back to 1896. Its arboretum is among the oldest in Australia)
• can protect sites of cultural significance

Local communities should have a say in the future of state forests in local community areas. Let our voices be heard. Who knows what will happen to these gems if they are sold.
