Dear Valued Supporters,

I'm writing to you today with immense gratitude and exciting updates! Thanks to each and every one of you, our petition "Empower Working Caregivers: Enact Federal & Colorado CARE Act to Amend ADA & CADA" continues to gain momentum.

We are now celebrating over 490 supporters and specifically 544 signers! Seeing our numbers grow like this is incredibly motivating and shows the widespread recognition of the urgent need to protect employed caregivers. Thank you for signing, sharing, and standing with us – it's working!

As you know, this petition is central to my work with the Caregiver Advocacy and Support Initiative (CASI) and Professionals Who Care (PWC) to achieve significant legislative change. Our goal remains clear: first, to pass the Colorado Caregiver Accommodation and Rights Expansion (CARE) Act by amending the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act (CADA - C.R.S 24-34-402) right here in Colorado, and then to leverage that success to push for a Federal CARE Act by amending Article 42 of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

This journey through the Colorado General Assembly and ultimately to the federal level is challenging, but seeing your support reminds us why we are doing this and the sheer number of lives it will impact.

Speaking of impact, I'm thrilled to announce a new resource aimed at educating more people about the realities employed caregivers face. Professionals Who Care has just launched a new blog series titled "Hidden Truths: 12 Things Most People Haven't Heard About Caregiving in America."

The very first post in this series dives into "Hidden Truths #1: High Prevalence of Employed Caregivers." It shares eye-opening statistics – like the fact that over 32 million professionals in the U.S. are balancing work and caregiving – and explores why this massive population remains largely hidden and underserved, touching on concepts like the devaluing of care work.

Understanding this prevalence is absolutely critical to our advocacy. It demonstrates to legislators, employers, and the public that supporting employed caregivers isn't a niche issue; it's essential for our workforce, our economy, and the well-being of millions of families.

I encourage you to read this first blog post, share it with your networks, and continue helping us spread the word: ➡️ Read Hidden Truths #1 Here: Hidden Truths: 12 Things Most People Haven't Heard About Caregiving in America

Your signature on this petition is a powerful statement of support for recognizing employed caregivers as a protected class and ensuring they have access to reasonable workplace accommodations. Every new signer adds to our collective voice!
