The arrival of bus filters assumes access to bus routes. To the west of Woodstock Road there is a bus desert. We have had no bus service since the 17 disappeared.
When you cannot drive a car, afford (or find) a taxi and cannot walk far or cycle safely (old, ill or disabled) then you are trapped at home, unable to get to doctors and local shops independently. 

Cutteslowe, Sunnymead, Waterways, Waterside, Jericho and Botley all have many people that this applies to because these areas spread out away from main roads. Secondary school children from these areas could also benefit from the proposed revised 17 bus route when walking to and from school is difficult.
We desperately need a bus service now linking Cutteslowe, North Oxford, Summertown, West Oxford and Botley via Kingston Road and Walton Street and dipping into the areas off these roads. The route will go round Jericho then to the city centre shops and railway station. Botley Road patients need to be able to access GP services in Jericho and Beaumont Street, once the road is opened again. The route would also connect everyone in this half of the city to bus routes to the Headington hospitals, changing buses in Summertown.
