I’m a fan of Tomodachi Life, and I’ve been following Living the Dream since its announcement. I was really looking forward to seeing it get proper Switch 2 enhancements.

I watched its 1st announcement back in March of 2025, I didn’t discount Switch 2 enhancements, because it was before the Switch 2 direct. I watched the Living the Dream direct and its overviews, and they said the game would be “Compatible with the Switch 2”. I wondered if that meant it would get Switch 2 enhancements.

Living the Dream released, and the only enhancement it has on the Switch 2 is 1080p in Handheld mode without Handheld Boost Mode so you can use the touch screen. I was disappointed and angry that there were no true enhancements.

 I wanted Living the Dream to have the below features on the Switch 2.

1. Resolution improvements in both Docked and Handheld modes.
2. Anti-Aliasing
3. 60 frames per second
4. Joy-Con 2 Mouse controls.

I feel these are reasonable to expect in a day 1 patch for one of the last major 1st party Switch 1 games, and being almost a year after the Switch 2’s launch. I believe it was a good contender for the most anticipated game of 2026, it only makes sense to add these to such a game.

According to a comment I saw on the Tomodachi Life Subreddit, some members of the Subreddit are against Living the Dream getting Switch 2 enhancements. Mainly the idea of it getting content only available on the Switch 2. I understand and agree that the game shouldn’t have console exclusive content like that day 1, but visual enhancements, framerate enhancements, and a new control scheme that would make the game more enjoyable for some people are features that I feel wouldn’t upset these people. I don’t feel like only having these features on the Switch 2 would be unfair, because it’s making sure that Switch 2 owners are properly accommodated in a new major release.

I had the idea of creating this petition to show Nintendo that there are enough people who want Living the Dream to get Switch 2 enhancements to justify adding them in an update. It’s not too late to do so, they would be easy to add, and it could be touted as a major update.

There are enough people who would benefit to justify this update. The Switch 2 has sold over 17.37 million units in 7 months, topping the Wii U’s lifetime sales. I’ve also heard that the Switch 2 is close to topping the GameCube’s lifetime sales too. Living the Dream has sold over 700,000 physical copies in its first 2 weeks. That number doesn't include digital copies. These numbers are significant, and will only increase over time. Chances are, you are part of one of, or both of these numbers, meaning you would benefit!

If you’re interested in Living the Dream, and getting a Switch 2, or if you own both, I suggest you sign this petition. Even if you’re not very interested in these enhancements in Living the Dream, I still suggest you sign it. It’s free, and you’ll be happy with the results if this petition succeeds!
