West Orange High School, throughout the ongoing genocide of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, has pledged to remain "neutral" on the matter and has refused to outwardly oppose or support any side. Despite this proclaimed position of neutrality, West Orange High School continues to fund the Israeli Culture Club, as it has done for many years. Palestinians and allies in school feel ostracized by this blatant display of allegiance--despite school officials' insistence that they must stay removed from anything "political". 

When students asked to establish a Palestinian Culture Club several months ago, they were hopeful. Yet, months went by, and progress remained stagnant. When they approached the subject again with school officials, they were told that West Orange cannot currently fund new clubs with their budget in the deficit. We demand that the Israeli Culture Club have their funding revoked--unless the SJP receives funding.
